Announcement of Winners
17 November 2011
This year, the APB Foundation Signature Art Prize has grown in scale and is more keenly contested, widening its reach from 12 countries in its first edition in 2008 to the entire Asia Pacific region.

Nominators from across the region were invited to recommend up to 5 groundbreaking or noteworthy visual artworks from their respective countries or territories. The result - 130 works by 129 artists and collectives from 24 countries and territories were selected by 31 nominators to vie for the top prize. All the nominated works were created between 2008 and 2010.

The nominated works include installations large and small, paintings, mixed media, video art, performance art, photography and prints, with a significant increase in entries for video and moving image works, as well as monumental-size pieces. The nominators felt the works score high on creativity, originality, technique, artistic insight and expression, and in some way define new and contemporary developments in art-making from the region.
