Be part of the sustainability movement and learn how to transform nondescript cardboard into a functional, life-sized stool from scratch. You will gain a greater appreciation for the versatility of this everyday material and get to bring home your very own design! This workshop, conducted by the Paper Carpenter, is part of the exhibition Gatot Indrajati: (re)construct . (re)konstruksi . (重)建 organised by the Singapore Art Museum. Suitable for ages 9 and above.

*One workshop ticket admits up to 4 pax, but ticket cost only covers the materials for one chair. Children below 9 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Usual museum admission fees to the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) may apply. About the exhibition

This is a public programme associated with the exhibition Gatot Indrajati: (re)construct . (re)konstruksi . () — a Singapore Art Museum (SAM) commission created by Indonesian artist Gatot Indrajati. The artwork encourages viewers to explore the developments of Southeast Asian identity via the influence of Chinese diaspora within the region. Conceived to facilitate access and engagement, the commission is to be experienced in both observation and participation. The commission is exhibited at the Asian Civilisations Museum, Contemporary Art Gallery till 6 October 2019.

 

About the facilitator

Paper Carpenter is a team of highly innovative architects and designers with a passion for cardboard construction. Every day they materialize ideas using cardboard, a versatile and eco-friendly material, to meet creative and challenging briefs.
