SAM offers three types of school visits: a Self-directed Visit without a guide, a Gallery Session that is facilitated by a SAM staff and Quiet Hour for special-needs education schools. All three types of visits require advance booking. Find out more below: 





Date: Weekdays, 4 October 2018 – 27 January 2018

Time: 10AM – 7PM

Price: Free with registration


Educators are welcome to bring students on an independent tour of SAM's ongoing exhibitions. Visit our Art & Events page to select the exhibition you wish to see and download the educational resources to complement your visit.


1. For visits to the Think! Contemporary 2018 Exhibition, please visit this page for more information and to make a booking. 


2. For all other exhibitions, please download the School Visit Booking Form and email it to [email protected]. Self-directed visit bookings must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the date of the visit.

Price: Free with advance booking (for students of Primary 4 and above only)

Engage in lively conversations about the President’s Young Talents 2018 exhibition and selected artworks, facilitated by SAM’s Education Specialist. To join, please download the School Visit Booking Form and email it to [email protected]

Bookings must be received by the 7th of the month before the date of the visit. Each session can host up to a maximum of 20 students and lasts for half an hour. Bookings for 2 sessions can be made for a class of 40 students. Gallery Sessions will be subject to the availability of SAM’s Education Specialist.

Special needs groups from Special Education Schools can visit the museum an hour before usual opening hours to enjoy the artworks in a less distracting, more conducive environment.
This programme is for schools who have children with special needs only and requests must be received at least 4 weeks before the date of visit. Schools are highly encouraged to arrange for a preparatory visit to the exhibition prior to the actual visit.
