volunteering

SAM volunteers play a vital role in supporting the work of our staff. Volunteers may be exposed to areas in museum education, visitor service, and even public speaking. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to develop career experience and gain a deeper connection with art. You can expect to learn more about art and artists through training and independent research and discovery.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • attend insightful training courses conducted by SAM curators

  • learn everything about the Museum, including its rich history and future plans

  • meet and befriend like-minded people with a common interest in art

  • develop new skills and grow your confidence
