Artist Elia Nurvista will lead a reading workshop centred on one of the chapters of Max Haiven’s Grease of Empire (2022) to delve into the palm oil industry and Elia’s research. This will be followed by discussions amongst Elia and workshop participants on the various issues (environmental, social, political, historical) related to palm oil, monoculture plantations, and more, drawing on participants’ own knowledge and experiences and forming connections with the associated exhibition Nafasan Bumi ~ An Endless Harvest.
