Get creative and see how everyday recycled plastic can transform into beautiful, sea glass-like fragments. Inspired by the Talking Objects exhibition, this hands-on workshop invites participants to explore hidden stories in ordinary objects.

Using collected polystyrene containers, you’ll sand and gently heat the plastic, watching it shrink, curl and harden into unique, glass-like pieces. Some fragments can keep their textures while others can be flattened or reshaped—each one telling its own story. You can link pieces together with jump rings to form words, gestures, or simple chains, or let each fragment stand on its own.

This workshop encourages curiosity, creativity and reflection, showing how objects and ideas can change over time, carrying memory and meaning in surprising ways.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Experiment with transforming everyday materials into art
- Learn basic sanding and heat-shrinking techniques using polystyrene plastics
- Explore how objects can carry stories and spark imagination
- Reflect on transformation, memory and value
- Create unique fragments inspired by contemporary art
