Artist Residency || 01 Oct to 31 Dec 2026
Daniela Zambrano Almidón’s research and practice involves itself in methods of the decolonial, working through themes of diaspora, memory and heritage and the intersections of historical narratives and lived experience. Drawing from her roots as a Peruvian researcher and Quechua artist, she brings together personal and collective traditions and rituals as a medium to navigate through difficult-to-answer questions, often manifesting as workshops, mediations and events that must be felt and experienced collectively.
While in residence, Daniela will continue her ongoing research into the connections laden within the Pacific—exploring migration, food and ancestral knowledges that are connected to the ocean. Inspired by her encounter with the Aymara sage, Apu Qullana Mallku, she will also seek to integrate art as a tool for healing, working to find avenues for political and spiritual demands to emerge in artistic production.
