Curatorial & Research Residency | 01 Oct to 31 Oct 2024
Suvani SURI is an artist working with sound, text and intermedia assemblages that think through modes of listening and voicing. Working with objects, installations, mixed tapes, curatorial propositions and interventions, Suvani’s work occupies the gaps, cracks, absurdities, and excesses embedded within the technological processes of production, mediation and the perception of sound.
While in residence, Suvani will interrogate the relational and speculative capacities of listening, and the politics of recording technologies vis a vis specific sets of historical audio archives. Sonic fictions, diagrams, texts, speculative artefacts, and a range of artistic practices that wrestle with the thresholds of (in)audibility will be invited and activated to dig into the catalogues and records of the archives.
