Senior Manager, Programmes

6 Months Contract

SAM is committed to making contemporary art accessible and inspiring for everyone. We are currently seeking to fill a 6 month contract for the role of Senior Manager, Programmes. The role will support the Education, Access and Programmes team in the delivery of immersive and inclusive experiences.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Curate engaging programmes that can reach a broad range of audiences, including youth, children, families, seniors, and community groups
  • Continued commitment to public programmes and building partnerships
  • Manage budgets, and supervise staff, interns and/or volunteers
  • Ongoing development of inclusive content for SAM for online and onsite audiences, including administrative support
  • Work with external and internal stakeholders (eg. curatorial, marketing and partnerships) to afford access and develop learning opportunities for the appreciation of contemporary art
  • Support marketing and audience development activity for Education, Access & Programmes
  • Any ad hoc duties as assigned


 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the museum, arts and heritage sector or equivalent
  • Experience designing and coordinating programmes, in particular programs for a range of audiences
  • Degree in Museum Studies or a related qualification
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent record of stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written communication skills
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, and the ability to exercise initiative
  • A good level of computer literacy with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office


 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Curatorial experience
  • Volunteer Management
  • Knowledge of ITQ, direct contracts, etc
